IED coordinates the teaching and education on topics related to environmental decision making and human-environment systems at ETH. The groups at IED offer possibilities for doctoral studies (PhD), master and bachelor theses and teach various courses in a number of master and bachelor programs in the Department of Environmental Systems Science (D-USYS), the Department of Health Science and Technology (D-HEST), the Department of Humanities, Social and Political Sciences (D-GESS) and the Department of Management, Technology, and Economics (D-MTEC), such as:

IED is in particular responsible for the Environmental Systems and Policy (ESP) major in the Master Program in Environmental Sciences and for the Human-Environment Systems (MUS) specialisation in the Bachelor Program in Environmental Sciences.
